I dress how I like and don’t follow trends.
Most trends are pretty silly anyway
Good!!
Most trends are stupid. To me, it’s a tactic to make them look dumb
You are certainly welcome to dress how you want but don’t expect society to give you respect if you are badly dressed. Badly dressed people give people a reason to discriminate against them.
Ms. Courtney, 29 yrs old? I’m so disappointed in you, it is not necessary to lie about your age making yourself 10 to 15yrs older , you are still believable in your knowledge of aesthetics, age has nothing to do with it, l know many children who are sage. I know you don’t like frivolous obvious compliments many beautiful girls get daily but l have to repeat myself sorry you are arguably in the top 10 most beautiful girls in the world, not the neighborhood, l mean literally the world.
The theme of the video is being confident in who you are!
Im in my early 30s so I don’t wear the baggy t shirts, I wear well fitting blazers with Jordans (the subdued ones not the super flashy ones) when i head out on the weekends.
TL:DR
1. “How do you do fellow kids”
2. Dont invest all the points on your skill tree in one stat
3. Consistancy
4. Take care of yourself
5. Read the room
6. Be honest with yourself about your clothes size
1. Trying too hard to be trendy 0:35
2. Perfecting one area and ignore the rest 2:24
3. Relying on motivation instead of discipline 5:32
4. Running on empty (looking like a slob all the time from not taking care of yourself) 9:18
5. Wearing the wrong outfit 12:13
6. Poor fitting clothing and odd proportions 14:50
“Every girl’s crazy about her sharp dressed man” – Z Z Top said it best.
Issue with being obsessed with discipline is that you are in job mode 24/7 which is incredibly stressful in the long run. There is a reason why we can’t work 24 hours 365 days.
Proper hyrdration is also important. I have a sleep score from my fitness watch and find that my sleep score decreases (sometimes quite dramatically) if I get too focussed at work or whatever and skimp on my water intake. Quite surprising how much of a difference something so simple like that can make.
I also have a rule that I take in no caffeine at all after midday, as it can still be in your blood stream when you go to bed at night and interfere with your sleep patterns.
Thank you for the advice Courtney. Hope you and Teddy and having a good week.
To answer your question on what I think make women look less attractive:
1. Lip filler (youโre 100% right)
2. Too much makeup (I personally donโt like anything beyond mascara)
3. Too many piercings (especially not a personal fan of lip or nose piercings)
4. When they obviously dye their hair (unnatural colors especially)
5. They dress too provocatively (itโs their choice what they want to wear, but itโs begging for attention and not giving the impression that they respect themselves)
6. Face tattoos (just no)
I dress like my profile photo and it scares everyone away, women, men, cats, dogs, you name it.
Even the insects run away
I think this is excellent advice. One of the advantages of wisdom gained through age is the ability to look at things wholisticly and well rounded. One thing I did…or noticed that I did…was when I thought about doing things that could be considered “routine,” I changed the way I thought about it.
Instead of “I HAVE to exercise,” I began to think, “I GET to exercise.” It changed my whole outlook. For men who are moving through mid-life, they begin to realize that the only competition they have is the clock on the wall.
Thank you!
Love this! โค๏ธ
The too much lip filler is definitely bad. I’m not big on tattoos in general, so too many definitely doesn’t work for me. Someone below mentioned too many piercings. The ring below the nose is one of the dumbest things that I’ve ever seen. (bull ring one)
One of the most important takeaways in my following Courtney was the subject of Fit.
I have significantly changed the sizing of the shirts I wear and it does make a difference.
Same for jackets and other outerwear. I have gotten positive feedback from others confirming Courtney’s advice is spot on.
Yay! ๐ฅฐ
Great video Courtney, I completely agree with all these takes the main thing is to stay true to who we are not being someone we are not. ๐๐ฝ, Now For things that make women unattractive in my eyes is Tattoos, Fake eyelashes, Makeup, excessive piercings, Colored dye hair, Fake long nails, Especially lip fillers I see that Iโm simply walking the other way respectfully! I donโt want a Fake Woman or someone trying too hard to look like a Barbie Doll out of the box ๐ ๐พโโ๏ธ๐ ๐พโโ๏ธ๐ฏ. God Bless Yall, Jesus Loves You
Your number 1 priority should be the gym before fashion…if you’re fit, you will look good in anything.
*almost anything. I see a ton of fit guys wear extremely tight stuff that reminds me of jersey shore lol
โ@@stephenevans6961I think certain fashion channels are part of the problem – they deliver the most generic and uninspiring pieces of advice. “Fitted” clothing won’t look good on a muscular frame. But everywhere you look, the recommendations are always to “wear slim fit clothing” and to forget about trends. So what are we left with??? Many other factors like weather and economy fall into play as well. I ฤบive in Toronto – there is NO way I’m choosing fashion over freezing to death.
Not everything. Iโm fit, and Iโve tried on some clothes that made me look TERRIBLE
I decided to become a gentleman a few years ago. In my opinion, wearing classic, timeless, well fitting menswear is a great way to go. Generally speaking this involves dressing one level above what others are wearing. This includes coordinating the colour of leather and metals. This will make you look put together. You will feel more comfortable and confident as well as stand out.
We are living in a world that’s getting increasingly casual. Even if you dress smart casual and understand what that means it does stand out.
Keeping on top of your grooming makes a big difference. Recently, I shaved off my beard and had my hair cut and styled. It reshaped my face, giving the impression of being thinner and looking 10 years younger.
Courtney is right about sleep. It does vary between people. I need about 9 hours personally.
All good stuff thanks! Btw you asked about women and I would say a big turn off for me are when women pencil in their eyebrows so heavily that it doesnt look at all natural.
Another great video! Thanks, Courtney. โค
I was quilty for few of those sins few years back. Being over 50 and trying to look as young as I felt and dress well was really difficult. But not looking like a fool at the same time was even harder.
So I hired a stylist (some in your age group) and have worked with her for few years now. I’va also spent countless hours on Youtube.
The hard work, learning and money is paying off now. I’ve finally reached a point when my stylist didn’t have any comments on a photo of a combo I put together myself.
As most of us don’t repair our teeth or cars ourselves it’s worth while to use professional help in personal style as well. In the long run it’s cheaper because you’re only buying things you’ll actually wear and which combine well with each other so you’ll need less of them. Good for the Earth as well.
It’s good work you’re doing.
Following trends leads to a closet full of out-of-style clothes that used to be money.
