Age is irrelevant, and NO ONE at work has to know unless you tell them. You only live once. Follow your heart. Ask her out. The worst thing that can happen is she says no. If she’s 38 and still single, obviously the guys her age aren’t hitting the right buttons. My hero Anthony Quinn had his last kid when he was 81,and his wife was 41. GO FOR IT.
