Don’t get attached until you have decided she’s a keeper and she starts throwing around ultimatums. Proposing is no longer a thing. She yells at you and you tell her she’s a keeper. Engagement established.

Absolutely right. They usually come back when their #1 choice doesn’t work out.
I experienced this: she ignored me. A read message is also a reaction, so I left it to her to reply. She did so terribly slowly, sometimes a day or two would pass. Not an immediate red flag. After that she ignored me for six weeks. She was probably emotionally overwhelmed. After a week with no reply I completely forgot about her and stopped thinking about it. Then suddenly she regained her confidence and started chatting again, replying within minutes, etc. But by then I had already decided I was done with her. Still, I remained interested in her, and now we’ve been dating for quite a while and actually gone beyond the “just friends” zone.
A silence doesn’t necessarily mean it’s over, sometimes a silence is exactly what’s needed. Remember, everyone is different, this isn’t the case for everyone.
I don’t wish to be too negative. It’s possible she was dating another guy over that 6 week period when she wasn’t talking to you and it didn’t work out. Of course, she’s never going to tell you that. I think your instinct was right to be ‘done’ with her.
@thespian44 We were open about our false start with that six week silence. Her parents were there. Then it came out that shortly before that she had been assaulted by another man, even before she met me. A police report was filed about this.

Life experience has taught me that if a woman pulls back and you’re capable of being you anyway and going on with your life, her own interest draws her back on her own.
Sometimes they’re a narcissist….. run dont look back 😂
