After being devalued, singles, dismissed, undermined, invalidated, rejected by a narcissist… when they suddenly act nice and kind again… suddenly your brain may be releasing dopamine and oxytocin. You feel a sense of reward, togetherness, and belonging. You may feel like after enduring the devaluation, it is suddenly all worth it. Like you went through that together, as a team. Narcissists use intermittent reinforcement. Punishments and rewards at irregular intervals. They understand the effect that this is having on you. It’s an addiction likened to gambling. Where you may put up with a month of bad days just for one good day. But in the end, feeling like the house always wins.

When I was being love bombed I didn’t know what it was and I felt like I was being courted.

Wow, I actually made it here within 15 minutes of you posting this! Wooohoo! Love bombing did make me feel chosen and now I know that it was all a lie.

Idk about the clinical side but personally it has made me so jaded and suspicious of men and women(I’m a heterosexual woman but have noticed women friends will be on their best behavior initially to get on my good side then begin to devalue me when they feel my guard is down) that now I expect to be disappointed by everyone I meet at some point and have chosen a life of total and compete solitude πŸ˜ƒπŸ˜ƒπŸ˜ƒ

& it was customized because it’s demonic, that’s not to say the narcissist is possessed but there is demonic activity. The two are different. Thank you @DoctorRamani for all that you do. You are a blessing πŸ™πŸ»

I experienced this only once, from a guy who was interested in me in college. We only went out twice. Only two times. He came into it oversharing, too familiar, too sweet, very performative, very grandly affectionate. It felt off from day one and everyone else was saying no, he’s so sweet, don’t be so suspicious. I only went on the second date to prove to myself that he was…not right. I ended it and felt like I dodged a train. He ended up dating some other girl from our dorm and she unfortunately didn’t avoid it. Get a good internal BS detector, it’ll save your behind many times over.

I truly appreciate your videos. Have you, or can you do a video on narcissistic or covert narcissists who have a disability. In this case gastro intestinal, and use this to manipulate and isolate their family.

It looks so innocent but it is a fish hook with millions of sharp barbs and by the time you figure it out you are married have kids and thrown away. They treat everyone else like gold and treat you like crap. They commit adultery and blames it on you and you are left stunned trying to figure out how you missed this. It can happen to anyone. I am a therapist with attachment and abandonment trauma so I was an easy target. It is highly addictive this is love bombing.

We are all vulnerable to love bombing. Everybody needs love

  • @zmesopotamia6792 says:

The same intensity and speed of love bombing you will be there when they devalue you at the end of the relationship.

  • @beverlyadams7205 says:

The pain I have suffered from my narcissistic grown children is 100 times worse than any pain I went through in a romantic relationship

  • @Jessica-zf2df says:

How do you persuade your long time elderly friend that the guy she’s just met is love bombing her. He’s much younger than her and is all hearts and flowers and saying he loves her after a few days! It’s so hard not wanting to burst her bubble yet knowing it’s going to end in tears.

I have commented about my mom a lot in your video comment section. She’s 79, my sister died and we moved her near me. So for 30 years we hardly talked. She and my sister were joined at the hip, and I was treated like a spare. So, I thought we’d spend time together like they did. By the way, I have never held my sis responsible for any of it. So she moved near me and we set up an airbed in the 2nd room. I would stay the night once a week like my sis used to. She was so cool about everything, and I fell for the trap. I thought she didn’t drink anymore, and she can’t pick my sis over me anymore. Then she deflated the airbed and put it in the closet and made the room her cat’s room. The room had been referred to as our room, my adult daughter, and mine. So when she started dismantling stuff, I was soooooooo disappointed.
She stopped letting my kid cook for her at her house because, she said, she wanted to save electricity. Over time, she’s made my kid feel less than. I wish we hadn’t brought her up here
