I have been making this point for a long time in the realm of theology and worldview and I think that it can be generalized to values as well.
And that is that when one’s actions are not congruent with their stated values it is the stated values that are false. A person’s actual values will always be congruent with their actions because we make decisions based on what we actually value the most at that time.
