I doubt I’ll ever be married but my problem with the rings is the exploitation behind these gems and stones. You really want to wear something mined by a CHILD? I’m more into silver than gold but I’d be happy with a stainless steel ring. 😅😅 who cares. When I was in college in the 80s, I met a couple wearing rings made from old tires. 😂 it was Berkeley everyone was granola. 🤣🤣

I live in a foreign country (Islamic) for the past 35 years. If I presented these questions to a man here none of it would register. Western relationship/dating ”rules” are incomprehensible in this culture. Traditional gender roles are not only the norm, but expected. To make it worse, the common belief here is that foreign women (non Muslim) have loose morals and not the woman you introduce to family and friends. People here live secret compartmentalized lives. At this age I want a friend and companion, if it evolves to become more, that’s a plus. But at this age, women here are completely obsessed with raising their grandchildren and mommying/managing their adult children. I’m older, single, unencumbered and sadly, I just don’t fit into this culture.
Culture makes a big difference for sure.
