I hope this doesn’t come across the wrong way, but: as I’ve stated before, Jonathon, the person you spoke of does seem lovely, however you don’t seem very happy to me. Hence, I don’t sense a wonderful connection between the two of you. If convenience and ease of getting together, plus niceness, is what’s most important to you, I guess each to their own.
By the way, my deleting of my comments is due – I believe, to past life experiences. I wholeheartedly am behind everything I’ve said in the past and now. Though I am sorry for any upset that any remark may have caused. I am radically honest.
Also, I thought you were attracted to the athletic type: regarding physical appearance 😁

I would be cautious as you move forward to recognize the healthy signs of a relationship. It sounds like you want to be all in, but there’s something that is holding you back.
It’s new and exciting and that’s the catch for you, but really keep your eyes open for what you really want and need in a relationship.

I like Jonathon a lot but he seems to pick woman who want to mother him. So many men want mothers in relationships. this is why I am single.

I want to date, but general fatigue – physical, mental, and emotional – makes it hard. Mid-life is exhausting.
You don’t need to fake you are dating. Take yourself on a date , just don’t tell anyone you are the date.
Imagin3 what do you want from your date.
I want him to give me a call in the afternoon and invite me to a BBQ at his house. Hi would pick up my favorite flower. Go to a gourmet store to get the meat and the special veggies. At home, light some candles, cook for me with good music.
But take yourself seriously. Do it properly. And watch what happens…

Commitment is not love. Arranged marriages are commitments, & there is pressure & commitment to maintain them tho there is no love. (That is the historical reality of marriage.)
