I think if your relationship with your ex ended civilly then it’s ok to keep in contact once in awhile, especially if you have children together. I am in casual contact with about half of my ex-boyfriends. I think if there’s a friendship before dating, then it’s easier to stay in loose contact than if it’s some you meet online and have a romantic feelings for soon after the first few dates.
