    I don’t approve

It’s not just the age gap, but the absolute value of the younger partners age. I agree that a 40-year-old dating an 18-year-old is creepy. But someone in their 50s dating someone in their 30s is not.

@@EyeOfScrutiny Why? She’s old enough to vote, sign a contract committing her life to the dangers and rigors of military, or signing a contract for a mortgage.

    • @EyeOfScrutiny says:

      @@jimdandy8996 Creepy, but not illegal.

@ Apparently not to many people. Its been that way in many cultures for centuries.

I’m a Libertarian. I believe in independent decision-making on every subject except those that directly affect others in society (eg drunk driving). Abortion, spending money, buying a house, assisted suicide, it’s all personal preference. Age gap relationships between adults are not even worth commenting upon. It doesn’t matter if we approve or if we “get the icks”. It’s their decision and we should consider spending our emotional energy on self-improvement (but, in the end, it’s up to you lol).

When I was a senior in high school in 1975, a friend of mine asked a girl he really liked out for a date. She apologized to him and said she preferred dating older men. Of course we weren’t cool with this, but what’re ya gonna do?
I’ve heard recently that younger women appreciate how an older man knows how to treat a lady and doesn’t waste his time with kid stuff.
But I also think the song “Hey Nineteen” has a lot to say about the topic.
My wife passed a dozen years ago and I’m starting to get curious again.
While a young woman might be a lot of fun, I would like to find someone I can relate to who remembers the war in Vietnam and the Beatles.
