Oh and by the way, I have a date tonight after 2 months of talking on the phone with this man. I am actually scared and not sure if I really want to go on the date.

    • @JonathonAslay says:

Fear is natural and yet, nothing ventured nothing gained… just like when I broke the board.

  • @summerlane508 says:

We Jonathan don’t vomit our emotions we expressed them not polite to use a disgusting word for some thing that comes natural to women. And I like men, so no shade.

    • @JonathonAslay says:

Fair enough… I simply meant that sometimes expressing is unloading without regulation.

    • @summerlane508 says:

@@JonathonAslay true there is a difference between unloading and expressing. Self-regulation is a skill and many people were not taught that. I guess if you’re emotionally intelligent, you can read between the lines but you shouldn’t have to in a relationship. I wish you the best of luck in finding your soulmate, or a life partner, which I believe is more realistic I, think it will happen for you soon

I enjoyed your share and found value in it!

Wow, what an amazing real life opportunity to look at the parts of you that love you and want to protect you, yet cause behavior that can and will affect relationships.

    1. Good to hear you were able to move into Self energy by setting aside the parts of you stoping you from trying again. Positive things happen when we’re able to operate out of Self energy without crucifying our parts

    2. The comment about agreeing to go camping, yet your parts show to others as pissy to be there (and initially refusing to try the board break again)—interesting to hear that. Remember they are often parts from when we were children and exhibit childish behavior as a result. Who are the parts? What were they protecting you from?

A certified IFS therapist would be able to help you understand these parts, be grateful for their help, unburden them from their duties (so they can go off and play) and operate out of Self energy.

Those parts love you, they show up in relationships though. My IFS therapist gave me this analogy—it’s like when the house is on fire, the firefighters come to save the day, but have to break all the windows and doors to do their job.
