Well I’m not “most people”… I go very slow, and at the very beginning, I tell them this…then they ghost because men don’t wanna build a partnership…they would rather have something with no strings attached!
I spent 10 years with husband 1. I could not take the competition of his other wives so I divorced him. Husband 2 passed of a blood clot after surgery. We were married 11 years and had discussed divorce because he wanted plural marriage. Husband 3, another 10 years,left me for sex, drugs, and rocknroll. He thought he could be a star. My fourth partner abandoned me and everything in his life, after two years, to start over with a new woman. Common denominator is me. I let these men run over my boundaries. I build up their ego, buy nice things, take care of every need and I chased them. I didn’t get the opportunity to be a friend – I didn’t give them the chance to chase me or help me. I feel that’s why men pull away. We become Mommy or a Nurse with a Purse, rather than staying true to ourselves. The man gets bored and steps out, while I feel hurt and resentful. My next relationship, I’m going to work hard to not get into fixing, I’m going to enjoy.
