If you’re a teenager with all the free time in the world, sure…

Not sure how you can rationalize that, considering how everyone Is married to their phones nowadays. Besides, It’s a good thing to socialize and engage with people. It’s very healthy to share of ourselves with one another. It’s convenient and fun and what else are we going to do? Write letters.. The good that social media has brought to this world, far outweighs the bad. Without it, I would have no idea who anna from joyanima is. And that is a sad prospect indeed. hell, People could just plain be retired or Disabled and are lucky to have it. The list goes on and on.

@@CrixusSigma1 Teenagers dominate the time usage stats of everything online and that as a result sort of dictates what is being shared online. Although you could say that the algorithms are sophisticated enough now to direct content at you that is similar to what you’ve already consumed to keep your eyes glued to your phone 👀

And yes I’m not denying that adults use social media, but a lot of it is honestly meaningless nonsense, which is pretty much echoing a time when we were teenagers and giving off the impression we’re all fun people and don’t want to ever take life seriously at all 🙄 Is it really ‘cool’ for 30 and 40 somethings to be REGULARLY using social media at a rate more than their in person interactions with friends and family and after taking into account their work/career, and other adult commitments?

The point I was getting at mainly is that it is an immature method of flirting by tagging someone in social media consecutively as it is exactly what a teenager would do who is too afraid and/or socially anxious to just have a conversation with the person and you each tell each other how you feel. Another consequence of so much social media use is increased anxiety…

This is why it’s NOT very healthy to use social media in the way you’re implying, because it actually causes more harm than good if used too much. It also puts increased pressure on girls for how they feel they should look, puts social societal pressure on people in terms of what people should be expected to be doing, how much they should be earning, etc by set age milestones, and it is a false/fake ‘highlight reel’ of people’s lives where they’ve voluntarily only decided to show you the high points. Nobody sees the low points (unless it’s like the very low points like death of relative or friend or other highly negative circumstance they’ve unfortunately been involved with) if they are mundane and boring and not much going on. In that sense it’s very feminine driven because it exploits the emotional rollercoaster of feelings from extreme highs to extreme lows and if you’re a masculine guy, you shouldn’t be getting all excited by that, because it’s a feminine thing…

And for the record I don’t classify YouTube as ‘social media’. It is very specific content that has the potential to overlap the social media space, but predominantly it is a source of information and knowledge that is vastly different and unique to Facebook or TikTok.

@BryJovi17 Now that’s what I call a reply! Before I respond, let me just say how refreshing it is to actually converse with someone who doesn’t immediately default to petty insults or juvenile stabs at my character. bravo!
I can confidently say there is very little you said that I disagree with, If any at all. I find myself a bit distracted by having an audience with someone proficient in the art of compelling dialogue. In fact, I feel compelled to add weight to your words. I have always felt Disgust at how something designed to bring us all closer together has been corrupted Into becoming a narcissism and self glorification machine. The purest example of this, In my opinion is Facebook. A once honorable outlet to socialize, Meet new people, And share common interests. Now, nothing more than the worst examples of ” Look at me, look at my life” Don’t you envy me? Don’t you wish you could be me? like me! Follow me! Worship me!
I am firm in my belief, that if you covet this behavior, And desire it for yourself, of which, there are countless examples of those who do. you will end up idealizing a life of emptiness. Material, Disguised as righteous.
If you were filthy rich, beyond your wildest dreams. Would you not question EVERY SINGLE PERSON In your life why they love you? Would you not doubt if they love you, for you? and not your money. The narcissism machine, that is facebook, Tik tok, Hollywood, And others, Is the manifestation and personification of hell on earth. While worthwhile ideals such as family, Freedom, Love and god are considered Fodder.
Obviously not everyone shares the opinions of my own. but, If there’s one thing In this world that truly causes concern for me. It is the overwhelming examples of those who are comfortable In the absence of love. Those who have abandoned the hope of having real examples of love in their life.
But there are those like me who believe in love, who refuse to let it die, And hold on to the hope, that In comparison to riches beyond your wildest dreams, it is what truly matters, And what everyone should be liking and subscribing to.
