I look at a person’s character. If they’re doing the right things on their own then it shows that they would make a good partner. Next, I have to see that not only do they want to be in a commitment but what does commitment look like to them. Is it just companionship? Because if it is, then it’s a no go for me. Companionship is typically based on feelings only. I’m looking for someone who is seeking a partner to build a life with, not someone to hang out with. Two totally different things. A man seeking a woman to build a life with tends to have a stronger commitment and is more willing to work on the relationship. That’s why arranged marriages last longer.

Me and my partner have been together for a year now. The first thing we both said that we wanted to be honest with each other. So far it’s been very good and we are totally honest with each other. It’s much better that way.

Have been on dates with some good women, but they all seem to be obsessed with their kids and grandkids. I want to get to know who SHE is, but I don’t think they know who they are as individuals. If you don’t know yourself, don’t date !
Men are the same way. Not as much as women true but I experience this with men. And female friends. It seems when people start having kids life is wrapped around their kids. Little time for friends. Then once the grandkids start it’s similar. And those who have boys only or difficult or independent adult kids they suffer a real crisis in finding out having kids didn’t solve “it”. What’s it? As Michael singer says ” it’s a mess in there ain’t it? You thought this would fix it “😂 but they keep chasing their kids and grandkids for happiness…
