Aggie – cool your jets- its just a habit – its not a coffee ad (if thats whats in the cup 😉) – its not hurting anything or anyone….imho.
My comment tho( reason for being here) though is why put yourself out there in the dating “pool” to begin with?. Happy with yourself?- just row your own boat –
Let things fall where they may… too passive for most i imagine- but its an idea- & does require that you are ok with being alone – i get that— & not exactly in the vein of how Jonathan makes his living- just a different approach. ( you know in the vein of ‘quit chasing’ – if its meant to be, u will know….) it may not be that u are great living alone or looking forward to it long term- just a different approach – may be less work, less heartache & more of some other things… – just being a devils advocate of sorts – but don’t mean to turn the apple cart completely upside down- just maybe saying theres other places to put your thoughts & energies- at least for a while…u might be better for it – theres lots of possibilities…as with any approach imho…. Just hope everyone finds their own level of comfort & happiness however that looks…( draw your own picture) — nothing new here. (Its just what hit me in the moment- nice we have a place to think out loud isnt it!)

Jonathan there is nothing in the research that indicates that “chemistry” has any small amount of correlation to a long term devoted relationship. The kind of chemistry you are talking about is attraction – sexual. That chemistry comes and goes, comes in like the tide, and goes out. We change, we age. You can investigate that there are many different kinds of “chemistry” and to teach that this attraction is the end all regarding making a decision about whether a relationship will weather the storms of like is just not correct.
That’s my point… I agree
