  • @humanbeing2804 says:

50 messages at a time. Literally. 100% true.
Never ever try to answer them – it’s gonna be the fuel.

  • @donaldquirk7801 says:

I just like texting all this bullshit because even though you are pretending not to read it I know you are reading it

  • @ursulareeg1171 says:

I had this experience where my husband’s daughter (48) decided to send me a reply to my text when she was meeting her father for a birthday celebration. I was happy that they were meeting but I also cautioned her that her father was not well ( 78years old) and to be cautious in bringing up negative comments ( long story but basically the family decided ti have a video conference after we announced our engagement 1. 5 years ago and are now married.
A month later I received a text that started out with ” at your age…” and continued with documentation of dates and what i either said wrong, did wrong, what I did not do. ” I scanned and stopped because it reminded me of an employee review.
That I was shocked was an understatement abd I gadget no choice but to block her phone and emails. I had enough. It still hurts, but your examples of narcissist behavior and what to do has helped me enormously. Thank you.

What about when the narcissist sends just one short but devastating text and then refuses to read your reply or turns their phone off? This is the tactic my mother uses. Drops a bomb and any rebuttal is met with “I don’t want to hear it.” Literally, those exact words.

It’s like exerting power through hostile silence. Is that why my no contact bothers her so much?

  • @michelapaolacci4047 says:

And the text explosion is all in capital letters……like they’re screaming it down the phone

  • @julesk1567 says:

hi there…. umm… I’ve got ADHD and I gotta admit I’m guilty of sometimes sending text messages that are too long or too many… I tend to overexplain… also I tend to get side tracked… but I don’t feel entitled that the person reads all of it or responds to it… and most definitely not in a timely manner… I’m absolutely open to the person telling me, “hey, that was a bit too much, let’s focus, what is this about?”… I’m grateful when the other person let’s me know when something I do doesn’t work for them but remains patient with me and points me the way what they need or expect and how I can adapt to that…
a wall of text is not necessarily a sure sign you’re dealing with a narcissist… please don’t assume the worst right oit of the gate when you get to know someone and their texting behaviour is… peculiar… might be someone neurodivergent lacking a few skills but ready and willing to learn…
