The Traits Narcissistic People Can’t Hide
What really drives narcissistic people—and why do the same frustrating patterns keep showing up again and again?
In this video, I break down some of the core traits behind narcissistic behavior, including the relentless need for validation, what happens when empathy and accountability are missing, and the patterns that can leave you constantly questioning yourself. Once you understand what is fueling the behavior, a lot of what once felt confusing starts to make much more sense.

Vulnerable narcissists are very dangerous !!! Thanks Doctor Ramani ❤❤❤love what you been doing helping the masses with this subject
The sheer lack of empathy and constant boundary-pushing should reveal to you that their brain just can’t register what is separate to them. They don’t know who they are.
And if you ask my husband he admits he doesn’t care. I’m not sure yet where to put that.
They take boundaries as challenges to be conquered. Compulsively. They know something is wrong with them. But their conscience doesn’t allow them to entertain that thought.
@ck-ig4nk as a narcissist, he probably considers you to be part of himself. So he doesn’t think it’s a hurtful thing to say. But if you act against his wishes, he will be enraged as if his own coffee cup has betrayed him. Stay safe.
It would reveal to me that he wasn’t to be trusted.
@purvamandlik4696I have found that narcs are very fond of THEIR boundaries, but YOURS simply don’t matter. And they seem to get a power trip and thrill out of violating boundaries.
Thanks Dr Ramani! I am eternally grateful for all you taught me ❤🙏🏻
YEP! It is a bottomless pit of need. A form of supply desensitization which kickstarts the devaluation of their current supply in search of something new.
There addicted to the gaslighting and your reaction it’s what they live for!!
My husband doesn’t know what to do with my gray rocking. He just gets so flustered 😂 I shouldn’t laugh, but it’s comical now that I know what’s happening. I am currently about 2 years into uncovering what I have been putting up with for 26 years. I am slowly but surely working myself out of it.
I’m divorcing a malignant narcissist and it is brutal. He refuses to accept boundaries even though I’ve moved out.
Thats how it is, but he will stop eventually, when he secure a new supply
Please stay safe and let everyone know what is happening.
Being held accountable for their actions is a terrible experience to narcs. Our justice system often fails them by not doing so.
The justice system fails US as Victims for not doing so.
Dr. Ramani, your ability to explain such a heavy topic with clarity and compassion is unmatched. This helps so many of us make sense of confusing relationships—thank you for your wisdom!
Yeah, the supply is everything to them, and they never have enough of anything.
The words would stick in my throat as he asked me if I trusted him, and I said yes, because I knew I’d get his rage or worse still discardment. I felt I was betraying myself to the core.
1:33 I’m that girl from the gym who had some tryst with a vulnerable narcissist 🤦🏾♀️—the worst experience of my life. I’m also the daughter of a narcissist and my brother it is one too. So what ultimately led me to therapy, to understanding what narcissism is, and to beginning the healing process was meeting that man, althoug till this day (2 years no contact) I still doubt myself sometimes
Learning about Narcissm somehow opens up our own personalities, and where our courage and strengths come from.
Yup! I was a fool! But after 24yrs. My eyes are open!
Being human seeking authentic connection doesn’t make you a fool 💜
I beat myself up quite a bit when the relationship with my ex ended. I felt like a chump. That’s the word I used in place of fool.
I’m starting to see things more clearly now.
I was dealing with a predator. She is good at what she does. My roommate likened her to the scorpion on the back of the frog in the fable. She does what she does because it’s her nature.
I hope you can stop feeling like a fool. I’ll bet you did the best you could do in your circumstance.
There was a time when I would literally rehearse my texts to him out loud because I didn’t want to “sound annoying.” That’s how terrified I was of losing someone who didn’t even care if I stayed. I look back now and I want to hug that version of me… and also shake her. Everything changed when I found The Obedient Boy Protocol. It wasn’t motivational, it was confrontational. It forced me to see the psychological mistakes I kept making. The craziest part? Once I stopped being emotionally available on command, he panicked instantly. Suddenly he was sending long messages, double-calling, trying to understand why my energy changed. He doesn’t know the truth…I didn’t change. I just stopped worshiping him
Enfim, vc mudou.Despertou.
I lost a 100lbs and my soon to be ex covert/vulnerable narcissist showed me off at her place of employment and later accused me of “always one upping” her, I referred to it as vicarious supply, thank you for validating that I was at least in the ballpark, your book and videos have been invaluable in helping me through the divorce process ❤
Yes! Extreme resentment
The resentment of my ex was so extreme that I started telling my therapist that I didn’t think I experienced resentment at all.
Of course, I do. Not like that, though.
I lost sight of baseline… Pretty much everything. I’m glad it’s over.
Unfortunately there are adept at mirroring empathy and kindness they see in others. Its pretty tough to identify a narc unless you see a mask slip.
Please keep these coming. Would love to hear more for those of us who have the opportunity to walk away from family of origin and continued growth and healing. …I can’t unsee what I now see. Much gratitude!
I’m the one who exposed the dysfunction in my massive family. 12 years later, the main characters refuse to be accountable. It’s a daily frustration for me, because I’ve healed and see that that one action could relieve so much ongoing pain, drama and confusion for the children , grandchildren and great grand children involved in this family.
This is even more confusing because I see these traits everywhere from everyone and even within myself in degrees.
