Money and validation are just like oxygen to narcissists.

My narcissistic ex husband was OBSESSED with get rich schemes. He’d spend hours and hours sitting at the table, busting his brain, trying to come up with different plans that would make him a millionaire in days. Of course, none of his birdbrain ideas ever took off, which would send him into a funk.

In high school, a friend asked me to join her with a group of people and a teacher to work on making a boardgame. The teacher invited me to a restaurant to speak about the game and that’s when he made the move.

Had since had other people asking me to join them on something and I stayed out of it. A guy at an old job wanted me to get in on some part he wanted to make for wheelchairs.

I remember some colleagues at an old job saying I should be a supervisor. I was surprised about that. I stayed in the position I was in though. A manager asked me to watch a training class once and I did that. I felt the impostor syndrome lol.

if status is supply, then the love bomb was never about you β€” it was an appraisal that came back positive. how hard they chased you measured what you represented, not who you were. so the discard isn’t you failing to keep them. you were a slot that stayed filled until a higher-ranked one opened. it felt like love the entire time it was an assessment.

Oh, so much of this sounds like my also ASD EX. He refused to work on getting a good GPA in college because he said he refused to do work in classes where he was “smarter” than the professor. Then got angry when the bank he worked for during college wouldn’t hire him because his GPA wasn’t good enough. Claimed GPA didn’t reflect his intelligence so I told him no but it sure reflects his ATTITUDE no one would want to hire. Ah, 33 years later, my inheritance was my way out of the marriage & he wanted me to give him $$ for a certificate program at UCLA. I said, provide me a proposal that tells me what the ROI for me would be including companies hiring people with that certificate & the pay rate for those people. He got mad cause I didn’t want him to succeed. He never provided the information, never got the money. I left because he didn’t want to look like a “looser” being divorced. Ah, I could write a book on this

Enough what??? Thank you for saying that. I have always thought that. Again you nail it. Love you!

They are stealing and living way beyond their needs. To me this stands out like a sore thumb. That sweet office lady with the gold cross chain around her neck. She’ll screw your eye teeth out! The many mask of the narcissist. Number one game is money.. or it can be the beautiful lady on their arm. Underneath their cruel an brutal people. It’s Not Fair.. because it’s criminal!

  • @R.L.Buick. says:

Dr. Ramani, you’ve ripped open the deceptive hypocritical mask today.
    Wow!
    You’re a powerhouse.

  • @opticalmixing23 says:

When you are the only one in the room practicing empathy, you are constantly putting out energy and receiving nothing back

  • @TheStinger-yd8ic says:

You have to consider they have the gift of gab too. You know these people lie on their resumes.

  • @jay_lawes says:

Wow… Narcissistic jealousy IS on another level. πŸ˜…

  • @MrFreeze29 says:

I know several narcissist that actually went to a university. What I notice with them is they’ll get someone else to do their class work for them. They are very good at using people and cheating the system. How they become successful is by convincing other people that what they want is what’s best for them. Their genius is selling bullshit. They then take credit for all the back breaking work someone else did on their behalf. Narcs are lazy people with a short attention span. Their greatest gift is talking, bread crumbing, making open ended promises and pacification. I watch these videos to help sharpen my awareness because most people don’t see them coming. The charisma is real and they figure people out quickly by mimicking them.

  • @Mark-f8n7p says:

Social climbing narcissists may also keep a few “turkeys” around to help them feel good. They can parade their success infront of those who are less successful in order to feel their envy as validation.

  • @j.1658 says:

In the middle of just this kind of mess right now with an estate and a sibling. Oh MY!

    • @mabelpayne8933 says:

Be careful. You will get screwed. Been there 3 different times and lost ever time but I’m ok because I know my heart.

  • @lillyanna8432 says:

they just think everyone is for sale! and when they meet someone who is genuine, its pure rage and they start to obsess over getting a leg up on their target!

  • @tsrocks2029 says:

My narcissistic MIL is so successful, she is a consultant at Oracle, coming from literally nothing in her family. Before I understood her I respected her a lot. But how she treats her kids and β€œloved ones” is sickening. She will absolutely destroy your life if she feels you crossed her. It always astounded me how she was able to succeed so much despite her issues.

  • @jemc6 says:

Malignant narcissists are obsessed with money and they don’t even appreciate the finer things in life. They just want the validation and power money gives them.
