This is very true and is helpful to remember to give space for understanding. However, in today’s climate there is a limit to the line where understanding of ones behaviors is enabling the offenders attitude towards other humans to be of lower intellectual vibrations.

At what point is enough enough? How do people who believe do onto others as you’d have done onto you becomes war in places like parking lots? & Then get shot in the face for protesting bad extremely costly behaviors?

      Absolutely

I love this story, Matt. I used to do this a lot except I realised it was enabling repeated misbehaviour patterns. And it absolutely backfires with narcissistic people. Even then you just gotta walk away though.

I’m a pretty moody person myself, but I do some “staying mindful” in a mostly arbitrary way, prolly just to keep myself convinced that I can do some deep thinking. Up until recently, I had frequently reflected on how you never know a stranger’s circumstances or if you might be witnessing them in their worst moment. I kinda feel the recent stresses of my life had me moving on from that bit of mindfulness sooner than I should have. Or maybe not. Maybe I would have returned to it in my natural rotation of mind spaces and seeing this video brought me back to it out of my regular rotation. Yeah. You just never know.

I like that…”generate a little space for compassion” even when you don’t know the full story.

I just could never understand people who think that it’s acceptable to bully/be mean to another human being bc they’re having a bad day. I think back to times when I’ve been in the worst shittiest moods and my inner voice always screams ‘have respect, be nice’ to the point thats nauseating’. Bc at the end of the day, if you personally feel that you have the right to take your shitty circumstances out on others, then you’re just a shitty person who hasn’t got the insight to realise the world doesn’t owe you anything
