What to Talk About on a Date

Stop turning first dates into job interviews. 🚨

You do NOT need to show up with a mental checklist of questions designed to determine whether this person is “marriage material.”

Instead, pay attention to **how you feel around them.**

Do I feel safe?
Do I feel comfortable?
Am I having fun?
Am I curious about them?
Do I want to keep talking?
Do I feel like myself?

Those things matter.

Ask questions that reveal someone’s **inner world**, not questions that feel like an interrogation.

Talk about what you love doing. Your favorite foods. Adventures. Goals. Weird interests. Meaningful experiences. Share a little vulnerability, especially something you’ve struggled with and grown from.

And if you need help keeping the conversation flowing, conversation cards can be AMAZING. I like Deeper Talk, but there are tons of options.

Your job on a date isn’t to extract enough information to predict your entire future together.

Your job is to **experience the person.**

Because compatibility isn’t only communicated through words. It’s in their energy, facial expressions, tone, body language, humor, warmth, and most importantly, **how you feel when you’re together.**

Take some of the pressure off.

A date is supposed to be fun. ❤️

Next week, I am taking out a business associate whom I am interested in romantically. What would be appropriate to get her for her birthday? I was thinking a $50 Victorias Secret gift card….
