I like your perspective on looking for the positive. I was hurt in my last relationship and I’m trying to find the balance. I guess it depends on a few factors, length and depth of the relationship and hiw devastating the pain is. I think I get hurt because I get left alone so long sometimes it’s a month at a time he says he has to work like he lives on the road but I think maybe he was left alone most his life even when he was married 30 years . Other excuses are he William im to old for a relationship.meaning him and or he says i have to many Grey hairs it’s always an excuse . He doesn’t really commit so after 3 years of it has damaged me mentally the best thing I can do is just tell him when he makes a better life for me we might as well stay single if all im doing is being alone anyway.
Look at it as a friendship, companionship. Someone to have fun with.I tell right from the start ,I am too old to go steady.
