How are you
For me, I had to get all the anger out. The disappointment, disgust, etc. His for what he did. And mine for giving him the benefit of the doubt and not listening to my gut.
Learning I deserved more and to ask for it.
Im learning now, that my standards are high and I will not settle because I have a good life and I’m happy. If a man can’t compliment my life, then there is no space for him. I’m noticing and paying attention to everything.
I never believed in ‘finding love’. I am sure that it is LOVE that finds us. I realize that I may be the last bastion of this but I am not going to change my beliefs regardless of what everyone around me is saying. I prefer to live in my own truth. I very much enjoy being single, and I would never want to be trapped in so-called typical “marriage.” I know what I am doing with my life. When Mat Boggs says “like attracts like,” heâs not saying you attract the wrong person because you are bad. You attract them because of the wrong ideas you hold about yourselfâand the wrong people pick up on that.
Someone who appears confident but isnât may target those with self-doubt, just like a predator seeks vulnerability. And for some, especially those whoâve experienced mistreatment or feel life has been unfair, thereâs an urge to take it out on othersâoften on those who are trusting and open.
Beyond that, attraction isnât just about personalityâitâs about familiarity. If someone mimics past behaviours youâve experienced, your brain registers them as “right” simply because they feel known. But known doesnât mean good. It doesnât mean special. And it definitely doesnât mean safe.
Conclusion? Know your brain. Know your patterns. Thatâs how you break the cycle and keep the right person.
