I showed this video to my neighbor and she said oh you need to read the book Rogue Remedies by Ruth Vance. Turns out FOUR women on my street have already read it. That should tell you something.

  • @Thebeautyinlife6 says:

Wow, I shared this in common with your guest today. I survived a family annihilation attempt with my children, which is working its way through the court system right now. As a result, not only did I figure out what the warning signs were, but I also discovered that my childhood was very much a key contributing factor to why I got in this relationship in the first place. I’ll never forget that after my children and I escaped death, my father’s response was to tell me to go back and make my marriage work, because he liked my husband.

When I announced I was going to write a book about this experience, the warning signs to look out for, and how your childhood connected to your relationship choices, I lost my parents. I chose helping others and hopefully saving lives, over keeping the family secrets quiet.

I expected the pain of losing the man and father I thought my husband was, I did not expect the pain of losing my parents. in the process.

    • @Pepperfam says:

Wow I am so sorry you had to go through such a terrifying horrific experience! I can’t imagine the trauma and everything you still have to face.

I also had a similar experience with my husband and father. My father was a cop and my husband. So my birthday card dating him at the beginning he just put you have an amazing boyfriend. I went no contact with my sister and it lifted everyone’s mask. My mom gaslighted and manipulated me. She uses my dad to passive aggressive and aggressively hurt me. She smirks. She is a perfect martyr who could not handle me missing her holiday parties. I got manipulated and lied to, to go on vacation with my sister. I got told Xmas morning by my husband we were going to Hawaii and my sister is going. So my own husband did not support me. He called me the mean one. He spoke bad about me to my husband. When I texted my father that he needs to never be mean again. My dad showed my husband and he goes don’t respond she does that to me. They all scapegoated me. So because I attracted mean friends like my sister. I marry my narcissistic father who betrayed me. I am alone. I am trying to leave my parents right now and the grief is so insane.

Having your own kids be mean to you cause my husband does is the worst part. I have been so sick and worn down with cptsd I can’t work. So isolating, and terrifying to leave the family.

  • @Floridashome says:

I appreciate all the free help from you. Because I cannot get money from the narc for help.

  • @Floridashome says:

What’s done in the dark comes out in the light.

  • @Mayra-l3t says:

Thanks Dr. Ramani for not becoming a Doctor. I have learned a lot from you. I understood why telling my husband millions of times not to treat me bad, it never changed. The more I begged him for nice treatment, the worse it became. I learned that your Silence is the only way to disarm a Narcissists.

  • @ChangingHerStart says:

“The every single day” “panic attacks” “gaslighting” Yes! We need you both! Thank you to you both! I’m going to keep healing and your examples push me forward!

  • @lindaisliving says:

Since 2021 your father hasn’t called or something.

My father called once in 60 years and that was to tell me I’d upset my mother.😮

  • @beverlyadams7205 says:

I’ve been listening to your solid advice on narcissism for many years now. You enlighten me with every new video. I walked away from my family six years ago. I’m 78 now.
I have to admit that I was surprised at how much you go through to help take care of your father. After all the harm he has done to you.
my first thought is “did I do wrong by walking away from my family?“ If Dr. Ramani is sticking it out, should I have as well?
All I know is I couldn’t take the abuse any longer. If my adult children need help or are in poor health I don’t know
    about it.
We all have to walk our own path and you have shown me that only I can make these decisions in my own life. For that, I thank you profusely.

  • @soniagiangiacomo1762 says:

Min 10:00 I can say :” YOU ARE SAVING MY LIFE, DR RAMANI”
and a doctor saves the lives.
    Thank you ,dr Ramani.

  • @gamelion3657 says:

Wow. Thank you both. My abusive, predatory, narcissistic father is ALSO dying and my sister and I are struggling. They truly don’t change or become less selfish, not even towards the end. 😢😢😢

  • @KaekoickArizona says:

Dr. Ramani you are a real Doctor.

  • @doggedness92 says:

This conversation about family relationships is so relatable. In these types of family relationships conformity and submission is required otherwise you will be punished or excluded. It’s really painful to see this when it’s your family. All you are doing is individuating and speaking the truth.

  • @TheMmiguelito says:

We appreciate the both of you for sharing your testimonies with us !! So proud of you both 🫂🫂💞💞🫂🫡

  • @CassieBrown-p8f says:

Holy cow. This was an incredible interview. I really needed to hear all of it

  • @kkryz says:

I’m not sure if my perspective is skewed because I’ve seen it a lot… but I think it’s common for medical doctors to be narcissistic. Good thing you didn’t become a medical doctor.

  • @Illyria_lady says:

You are two courageous awesome women!

  • @EnzoBennett-3 says:

Ok i never comment but i wanted to get this off of my chest… I laughed at the book title of Keep Him on All Fours by Elena Lame. Bought it anyway out of curiosity. Did not laugh once while reading it. It’s annoyingly smart. Girls if you’re ever feeling lost in relationship… this right here is the playbook.

  • @andymarko3099 says:

Thankyou both Dr Ramani and Sabrina
