What Narcissists Do When They Realize They’ve Lost Control of You
There comes a point in a narcissistic relationship when something shifts. You start seeing things differently, the same old tactics stop working, and you no longer respond the way you once did. But what happens when the narcissistic person starts to realize this, too? When they sense that something has changed and their influence over you is slipping? Their reaction may not be what you expect. Let's talk about what happens when narcissistic people realize they're losing control of you.

As Always! GREAT Timing… This totally nails particular people in our HOA
When they realise they’ve lost control over you, they may try lovebombing you if they think you’re going to be susceptible to it. Otherwise they’re going to start viewing you as a questionable person and then they may stalk you, smear you, sabotage you, isolate you. These are all attempts for them to regain control.
Yup
They hoover, rage, and try to punish you.
Yes, that’s very true—they’re embarrassing and pathetic.
thank you, thank you, thank you Dr. Ramani for sharing the magnificent work you do, and all the information you share. “May you be happy. May you be free from suffering. May you be safe / at ease / healthy.” 💐
I beg this channel needs Greek subtitles ! People around here dont understand english and this channel is such a gem !
you could possibly try coming from a greek video, activating greek subtitles, changing to this video .. usually this nudges autogeneration to try that language too, not reliably though
Μάριος, it’s difficult to translate in Greek. It’s not the most widely spoken language in the world. I agree that this channel is a gem!
Ωραία θα ήταν 😅
Remember everyone you’re not supposed to have a reaction to the narcissist actions! You are to tolerate their behavior at all times! When you do have a reaction to their actions, you are being immature and reacting to something that happened a long time ago….etc etc etc!! I often wonder if the narcissist believes their own lies! 🤔
Yes, this is true, although it is sometimes very hard to do. Stick with it. Let them ramble. Don’t let yourself get lured in, because they want nothing more.
I’m so grateful for this video. I have a narcissistic grandmother and everyone thinks she’s great. She uses money to make everyone like her and to make them think she’s a good grandparent. People think because she has bought me things that she is wonderful and I’m ungrateful. In the meantime she allowed me to grow up as a young child with an alcoholic parent in a hoarded house while she traveled the world and didn’t give me a second thought. Heaven forbid I tell anyone the truth or the narcissistic rage would be unstoppable. Nothing should ever (in her mind) get in the way of her public image. It truly is the most isolating feeling in the world….
If they can’t control you, the narcissist attempts to control the people around you. This is where child custody disruptions and parental alienation thrives. Vulnerable narcissists are devoted to their victimhood and will stop at nothing to destroy the one that got away.
💯
I’m experiencing this now with my mother who I’m now realizing at 62 that my mom is a narcissist and now has dementia and is on hospice and in a memory care facility. It’s taken the hospice nurses about 5 months to see through my mom’s behavior.
I just finished Anwen Reid’s anxiety quiz and the result was honestly not what I expected at all. I thought I had a pretty good idea of what it would say, but it focused on completely different patterns. Still trying to decide whether it misunderstood me or understood me better than I understand myself 😂
If you’re in a relationship or have a family member and you find out that person suffers from narcissism, just leave it. There’s nothing to turn back to.👍👍👍
I don’t think _they_ know _they_ may be narcissistic or even have the knowledge. I’m just super grateful I came across Dr. Ramani in 2024. I’d rather not mention it at all (narcissism). I think it’s pretty darn obvious.
If it were the opposite and I was narcissistic and _they_ watched this channel, would they show it to me? God knows I ain’t selfish. I’m more than happy to share this channel with people. I just don’t have that many people to share it with. 😅
The sad realization is they truly don’t care about you. Once you realize that life gets easier.
29:45 Dr Ramani starts talking about when the narc sees that you have them figured out.
The backstory behind The Marionette Principle is wild. A retiring Harvard professor who spent his life studying domination and the anatomy of the con hands his leather journal to Soren Vantrell with one warning: never publish it and never let it be traced to a face. Soren leaked it anyway, got erased from the university records, and vanished.
my brother sent me The Marionette Principle by Soren Vantrell last weekend and told me to read the Prologue. i ended up reading all 34 methods in one sitting until 4am.
In some cases, the realisation seems to cause them to self combust. It’s like they lose complete control, and they fall apart.
This video came at the perfect time. I use to be so emeshed to my Nmom. I would call her all the time everyday. I guess part of me felt like I had to do that after I moved out to make my mom feel better about that. The phone conversations constantly centered my mom or someone else. When I would say something about myself she would turn it back on her unless whatever I said made her look good. She would also disrespect or violate my boundaries. Slowly I started calling less. Cutting it down to once a week. She was satisfied with that. Not at first because she did get upset. Finally I decided to stop reaching out all together and it’s been great for my mental health. If she calls I do answer if I’m free or call her back. Now that I realize the reality of our phone conversations when I do talk to her the conversations are short and she always says no one cares about her because no one calls her. I honestly don’t care. This has been for the past couple of weeks. I’m dreading the inevitable rage that she will inflict once she realizes that she’s losing control. Another part of me doesn’t care because I’m not the weak, scared little girl that use to put up with her abuse. Watching this video helps me feel better about the impending rage. Thx!
Doctor Ramani
Once Again I feel like you must have a camera 🎥 in my house 🏠 lol
You just nailed this one perfectly
he’s beside himself with OUT OF CONTROL 😡 ‼️The HARDEST thing is not to get caught up in the Craziness & lose myself !!
Once you see it you CANNOT UNSEE IT ANYMORE 🤦♀️🤦♀️
So Thankful for this amazing opportunity to watch this video today ❣️❣️THIS was right on time
Be safe and continue PLEASE 🙏
I once saw wasband meet another obvious narcissist and in moments they 1) tried to dominate each other, and then immediately 2) repelled each other. Like human shaped magnets.
Outsiders/extended family tend to minimize, dismiss and/or defend the N people in your family on very little data. They want to believe the false front, make you doubt yourself or even scapegoat. If that happens, sometimes I’ll say……”Funny, I don’t remember seeing you around.” Or simply…..”There’s a lot of history you don’t know”.
