Ladies, men know long before they say. We feel it, we sit with it, we're dead certain about it — and our mouth is the last part of us to catch up. So if you've been waiting on the speech to be sure of him, you've been reading the wrong part of him.
In this video I'm taking you inside the seven signs a man knows you're the one. For each one I'm telling you the real, personal version of how it hit me with my wife Ashley — the ordinary Tuesday I knew, the nine-hour drive on New Year's Day, the argument that changed me — and then handing you the tell: exactly what to look for in YOUR man, so you can read what he's feeling before he's got language for it.
Whether you're newly dating, deep in a long relationship, or stepping back into love after a divorce — these seven signs will change how you read every man in your life.
▼ IN THIS VIDEO ▼
→ Why his feelings GROW in the space apart (and what it means when they don't)
→ The difference between a man who commits like he won and one who commits like he lost
→ Why deepening attraction matters more than instant chemistry
→ What his reaction to your friends and family is quietly telling you
→ The peace-vs-rollercoaster trap that makes women choose the wrong man
→ How to read him the moment the future comes up
→ The conflict tell that reveals everything — what he reaches for in a fight
If you've been searching for signs he's found the one, how men fall in love, what men really want, or understanding male psychology — this is the breakdown.

Ladies — Sign #2 is the one that’s going to start arguments down here (the “he claims you fast” one). I know. Fast isn’t the point — the absence of hesitation is. Fight it out nicely.

11:03 that peace doesn’t come actually from her. It was your own peace, and thus, she could feel peaceful and safe.
If a man is unsure, there’s no way she can feel peaceful.
It can be done when a man is internally ready for a relationship.
love that insight! thanks for sharing!
Hi Mat, Listening to this made my 10mo Unicorn 73 yr old widower look like I’m not really his person. Wife passed 3 yrs ago. I am the first woman in 50+ yrs (outside of his 43 yr marriage) that he started dating. Although he told me from the beginning he has no interest in re-marrying-I’ve continued down this road. He has started counseling and journaling and has mentioned he needs to fix himself first…..We are currently 6 hrs apart. I am concerned with moving my heart forward…
When a man tells you he doesn’t want to marry and needs to fix himself- BELIEVE him, and move on.
I am so very sorry that you are dealing with this pain and have wasted a lot of time already, but honey-
You deserve someone who truly loves and wants to invest in you, not a man who is still in love with his deceased wife after 50+ years and has been selfish in leading you on.
I am 41 years old, never been married or had children, and only recently did I finally meet the love of my life, and future husband! I am so glad I didn’t give up on true love finding me.
Pain has a way of making us stronger and wiser. 💪 Best of luck to you going forward!
Sir 2 doubts.
1. If a woman is truly satisfied in her relationship, would she still fantasize about someone else.
2. Can a woman attracted or fall in love with more than one person at the same time like men do.
I say it for me: no, I, as a woman, don’t fantasize about being in another relationship or with another person, EVEN when I’m not truly satisfied with this person I am at the moment… 2. I guess yes, it’s possible but it’s more about ego and not real connection.
@IreneAdlerrr ok, so if you attracted to more than one at the same time, do you physically fantasize about both
I didn’t saw other men as men or possibilities during 14 year marriage.
2.maybe, but different persons are different, so that love is also different towards each person although I haven’t had it at the same time towards two men.
Yes, but, the early bird?
When anyone (male or female) is deeply in love, we generally aren’t going to be fantasizing about other people outside the relationship and we aren’t going to be opening our hearts to others as well 🤗
How does someone in her family acs makes her a yellow flag?
Good question………….
Agreed
History of unresolved substance abuse
Or domestic abuse in the family, dysfunctional dynamics between the parents, unresolved trauma between parents or other family members – that’s a start!
@Mat_Shaffer but I know of lot of people that have narcissist parents and or had a substance abuse problem and they’re very gentle and kind and loving and just good people, I feel like you shouldn’t judge one person because of how family members are. Even if it’s passed down some people just choose the distant their self and talk to professionals about their trauma or abuse an even a lot of times if they don’t, doesn’t make them act the same way.
No4. It’s all nice when the family is normal, but what if the mother passed away in childhood and father is pedophile, hence no contact. Should I lie about my parents aka they died in a car crash long time ago??? Any advice?
That’s a tough one, yes, you must, if she is the one. Take risks.
I know what you mean. I think you need to build your own community…friends and handpicked family. Someone shouldn’t be judged because of their dysfunctional family.
I mean I would say first off there is no rush to share all of this with someone when you are newly dating them, but once you you establish initial chemistry and trust you can gently begin sharing your family history with him! I wouldn’t lie, that’s not a great precedent for a new relationship 🙂
Bless your happiness!! You’re so beautiful together!! 💖💖💖
thanks so much!!
I could relate to almost all seven. I have fallen in love again miraculously (seven months and growing stronger each day) and for the first time in my life know what true real love is in my 60’s. I am grateful I stayed hopeful after two really hard heartbreaks. The peace is priceless! I know he is my forever and don’t want to live without him. Our love is a crescendo… not a staccato getting better and better!
I love your videos Mat! Thanks for keeping it real and so rich with wisdom!
You are so welcome!! Congrats on the amazing life you are WORTHY OF THAT!! And glad my video support you so much more to come!!
Hi Matt, thank you for this video. I had a roller-coaster relationship with a man for about 10 years, off and on, and couldn’t figure out why it didn’t work out in the end. Almost all points you made, were red flags when I reflect back on our relationship. You’ve brought some peace to me. Thank you!
You are so welcome im so glad it helped you find peace and closure ❤🙏
It comes off a little judgemental and closeminded when you judge someone according to their parents. Many people have been raised by cruel and narcisstic parents yet have come out stronger & more resilient.
I know of nasty people who have great relationships with their parents.
If someone has been through trauma, yet they are kind, functioning and working on it, I’m 100 behind them.
Absolutely agree that having challenging parents isn’t a default red flag at all! I know many great people who come from dysfunctional families. Usually, those people
surround themselves with a CHOSEN family (ie great friend group) and are more distanced from their biological families. That’s why the sign is they have great people AROUND them – it can be friends , family, OR both!
Im still interested to know your zodiac sign &Ashley too 🙈😃🥰
Haha, maybe I’ll have to do a fun Q&A video to spill all those details soon! 😄
Thank you, Matt. 🩵🙏🕊
