Poor Denise. That person who hurt her seems completely unhinged and evil. I’m so glad she is safe from him. Denise, you are freaking awesome and so are you Dr. Ramani!

Wow…this is insane… getting verbally threatened with something that you know might actually happen one day. That’s torture. And that is illegal.
Everyone seems to think: You never get them anyways. Even when their victim ends up in the hospital.
Like…the fact that the victim is allowed to protect their abuser. That law is so insane.
Doctors can tell, if she hit a wall or she was punched into the wall.
And yeah some punch where you can’t see it… Not everyone just actually loses their temper.
However that law is really really deadly. It makes so that some victims end up dead.

Oh this topic makes me crazy. Trigger warning..

I was just 7yo when my stepfather started beating my mother. About 3 years into that…having her lie to us about how she ended up being black and blue (literally) there was this day where my siblings and I heard such a loud crash during their fight and such silence afterwards…I thought that was it. She is dead.
I was so used to interpreting the sounds and knowing what they are. And I knew this time, the cupboard made from hard wood, as high as the room, just fell on her and crashed her.
We ran next door, this was happening less than 2 meters away, and to our surprise, the cupboard still stood up. But our mother was on the floor next to it. Sitting there defeated. He stood in the middle of the room still furious.
Long story short, we tried to make him stop, he attacked two of my siblings and I had a blackout. Only blackout I ever had in my life. I really running towards him screaming, and then I regain memory, when my mother stands up, and tries to get me down from him.
I was sitting on his shoulders, kinda. Kicking and beating him simultaneously. With the hand I used to hold on, I scratched him as best I could. He couldn’t get me off, so he moved down to the floor, and my mother kept pulling my arm, telling me to let go.
    So eventually I did.
All the time I was screaming at him to die.
He didn’t say a word after I let go and just grabbed his jacket and wallet and was gone for 3 days.
That trauma did a number on me. Somehow it made me feel like I was bad.
Today I know that was my strength. That was my bravery and power. And I was just 9, so it only gotten more since then.

She called a divorce lawyers that day. Sadly my siblings never saw a hospital like they should have. I’m sure both had a concussion. And just a bit after the divorce a year later…she still established contact to that AH and she started beating our youngest sibling. Who was one of the two being attacked before.
She never was shy to beat us. Punch us across the face or on our behind. But, one punch you know. Not actually kept beating us. Until then, when I was 11/12yo. And mainly the youngst. She made us help her beat them.

The fact that I’m not in a white jacket, laughing like the Joker is a mystery to my therapists. There are so many more stories.

Beating is really bad. It leaves mental physical scars. There are no words to describe how low I think of someone beating someone else.

Dr Ramani, you and Dr. Les Carter have single handedly changed my entire relationship with my elderly mother who fits 8 of the 9 criteria for Covert Narcissism. I have to look after her almost daily so cannot go no contact, but I have learned SO MANY coping skills and have educated my husband so that he can support me (and he does – so well!) THANK YOU!!!

    Breaks my heart.
It never feels safe to fight back. 💔 Worse feeling ever.
    I went limp too.
Always feeling that something else would happen if you try to approach the issue–and it usually does.
They always have to one-up you, and have the control, and the domination, and be”right”. I can’t take not having normal relationships anymore. If I’m not smiling and going along just to get along, then I’m considered the problem.

  • @SusieBearOfficiaL says:

God bless you and you made it out and it is too much… thanks for making this video and being a voice… 👍💜💪

  • @TheSahand68 says:

If my partner tells me he will break my jaw, game over! I would call the police for domestic disturbance, so they are present when I pack my things and leave the house. lI would serve him with divorce papers within 24 hours. This is how it is done, this is how those attacks on someone’s mental health are handled, Denise!!Not going limp alowing to be psychologically tortured, living in fear, waiting to things get worse, etc. etc. and ultimately ending with PTS and years of psychotherapy, ruined distracted life, disturbance in childbearing, later problems with children’s mental prblems, etc. etc. and fear for own life…. no way!!

Denise, you are so so strong and so beautiful both in soul and self, you have survived! You are here now, and you are spreading such important perspectives on this abuse

You are an inspiration, and I wish all the love and kindness on your life going forward

  • @CosmicWrit says:

Denise is awesome and brave for speaking up and saying the realness of what she endured. Very brave and such a lovely woman. We can learn from her strength and uprising into the Phoenix she became from her awful experience. Glad she did this critical and informative gut wrenching real interview. She is stronger than she knew back then and blossomed into a warrior of truth and exposer of abuse. May this help other women in the end and help transmute dark to light – fear into triumph. Hugs Denise – you are loved and cherished and you are helping your kids break free of the generational cycle!!!

  • @StevePaul-q8l says:

We need to enact laws to stop these people getting away with this nonsense

  • @AuntTifaTX says:

The worst of it all is when you reach out to anyone, the first question is always “Why don’t you just leave?”. So I’m not reaching out anymore.

An Oscar for Madame Ramani. Sooo many people have been helped to see this issue clearer. Bravoooo
