Narcissists Who Are Hardest to Read

Not every narcissist is obvious. Some can seem vulnerable, helpful, or even selfless—making them much harder to recognize.

In this video, Dr. Ramani breaks down three narcissistic types that may be hiding in plain sight, and the subtle patterns that can finally give them away.

Had to jump on this video out of sheer curiosity and self preservation!

  • @JohnEffy-m6v says:

The Internet has given these communal narcissist a whole new playing field, but they aren’t hard for me to spot

  • @zmesopotamia6792 says:

Covert narcissists are far more dangerous than grandiose narcissists since they are not detected easily and by the time you recognise them the hard way, the damage in unbearable as you loved and trusted them.

  • @melissalund4564 says:

I think covert narcissists are very similar to communal narcs: they seem to be great people in public because being seen to do the right thing is important to them. Behind closed doors it’s another matter.

  • @HeidiHolt-q8d says:

My narc was covert. I had no idea, until he through me the wall. A year after he moved in

  • @TheLillipuss says:

Being a know it all, low empathy, attention seeking through DARK HUMOUR

  • @amiecollins74 says:

For my Covert Narc, it was until we had children.

  • @grayrockrecoveryradio says:

Apologizing for a “favor” you begged someone not to do is pure exhaustion.

When someone’s entire identity is being the self-sacrificing saint, you become the villain the second you set a simple boundary. If you felt suffocated around someone the rest of the world praises, you aren’t ungrateful—and you aren’t crazy.

I’m with you Dr. Ramani, I have/had the worst narcissistic personalities since forever. it makes me sick to my stomach to think of having new people in my life. I’m done. Thank you for helping us wake up in our hell.

  • @desertangel100 says:

I don’t like to accept help or gifts because they always feel very stringy. But it doesn’t help because bad is bad no matter what, mostly due to gaslighting.

  • @sameyeam5277 says:

Some of it felt like it was rubbing off on me. That is when I started to notice it more. I started to dislike it and how it made me feel. Then I started trying to correct it and the response was like a spoiled child. The heart stopping moment came from you Doctor Ramani. You did a video on narcissist and cheating. I also listened to you say there was really no fix for them. You explained the spectrum and the key things to look for. So I went into observation mode and saw almost every symptom. I realized I was in the discard phase of my marriage. I remained quiet and kept it to myself. It didn’t take long to find the cheating. The gaslighting and manipulation was unreal. I let her think it was working. Sometimes playing dead is a good idea. All the hyenas and vultures gather round for a feast and get distracted. They soon find out they have a fully aware lion on their hands. It wasn’t a super power. It was education from you. It’s been over two years and I am still seeing a therapist. I discovered I had more than one around me. I still feel dead inside. I don’t date or have friends with benefits. I have one friend but I keep them at arm’s length. Mostly because I just feel depleted. I had 4 betrayals in the span of a year and a half. The divorce was the beginning. I have also discovered the worst betrayal came at my own hands. I dismissed my intuition so many times. I ignored some obvious signs. I thought if I worked harder, it would get better. I enabled some of it. Some of it I just didn’t understand.

    • @ifepiankhi8441 says:

This so familiar to me. It’s very unsettling to see these patterns but it’s more intense because I’m a stroke survivor. I feel the gaslighting intensely now.

  • @Awakened_1 says:

Covert narcissistic people are very very very good at becoming the victim. Sad boys and Sad wonen, but definetly shy and socially anxious in the beginning but very subtle.

  • @mikem77 says:

It took me 10 years to realize my wife was a CN

  • @christysayers41 says:

RAGE ALL THE ABOVE. PATTERN OVER AND OVER

  • @VioletHarmony says:

My mom was a vulnerable narc until she finally married rich and now she’s a communal narc. But in any form, a narc is a narc is a narc.

  • @jokendrick2124 says:

Omg. You have just described my best friend of 48 years. Not kidding. Spot on.

  • @emmakaari9250 says:

    It took me two decades!

  • @OU812-67 says:

Dr. R, thank you so much for being here with me! I would be so lost without you!

  • @petrairene says:

Covert narcissism does not mean the person does not show nasty narc behaviour. It’s just of the more passive-aggressive, manipulative, self pity party, sneaky type of abuse. It’s not hidden, it’s juts more subtle ways to feed the need for narc supply.

  • @CS-iv8tk says:

Lost my daughter due to my covert husband 25 years of lies and manipulation. Heartbreaking
