  • @Neresdipity says:

I do think that a loooot of people project their goodness and decency onto narcs, it’s a big problem I think. (To be clear, empathy is not a problem, but people seeing goodness where there is none is likely why so many narcs get away with so much).

  • @planetclay says:

the fact that she bamboozled so many powerful people…..people who aren’t normally empathetic to the plight of others…speaks volumes of her abilities.
thanks for sharing your experience with us.

  • @assistivetechchick says:

I have no empathy for her but I have empathy for her children because she had her children for sympathy during her trial.

    • @SherryTomlinson-r2y says:

They do have a child for ATTENTION I’ve witnessed that

    • @mrnzes says:

      100%

    • @maryeastham says:

      I absolutely agree!

    • @noragardner1629 says:

Yes. This is exactly what I was thinking through the whole movie. Those kids should be taken away from their dangerously insane parents. I’m honestly worried for their safety because their father keeps guns in the house and on him at all times. Not to mention that he has no parental instincts, clearly. He doesn’t seem parental, just sick and dangerous.

  • @cherrybacon3319 says:

My Empathy to see the good in my Narc Ex was clouded by ‘hope’ and ‘Trauma-Bonding’ which kept me addicted to a relationship that was never going to change and go anywhere. I eventually decided I was not going to spend the next 10 or 20 years like this. 🍒

    • @tinabowen8748 says:

I’ve just reached this place. Had no idea what a trauma bond was…thank god for some of the tools that are helping me get thru this storm.

  • @of-storm-and-stone says:

If you feel dazed, confused or disoriented, that is your sign to RUN. It doesn’t matter if they’re a narcissist or a psychopath or neither – they’re NO GOOD FOR YOU.

  • @privateaccount8510 says:

Let’s face it…the world LOVES a good psychopath and narcissist. They admire them, and want to be like them. So in this game of constant reward and admiration, these monsters are inescapable

  • @concken1 says:

“Empathy might be the most dangerous thing I have” – so true and so often ignored or misplaced!!!

  • @lindseycherry314 says:

I once read something that stuck with me, although I struggle to practice it: “Never let your empathy get in the way of someone’s karma.”

  • @ceilconstante640 says:

planetclay left a comment that says a lot! She bamboozled a LOT of people who don’t normally have empathy. Narc’s have a way of pulling you in that causes one to literally lose their ability to think clearly.

    • @jacobus57 says:

She bamboozled old straight white men who fell for her blonde, blue-eyed pretty privilege and calculated vulnerability. O, and all of that was accelerated by greed.

  • @CassandraCurse says:

The narcissist hacked our system and the back door of entrance is empathy

  • @BiteSizeRecs says:

Every good quality, especially empathy, gets weaponized by abusers.

  • @maggie6152 says:

Empathy without boundaries and reciprocity is just enabling.

That’s where it becomes dangerous and exploitatable.

    • @4eversearch says:

@maggie6152 this is very true, but mostly theoretically
Ability to rein in one’s empathy is a separate skill, not easily mastered
I think it amounts to preventing oneself to even allow it in a process of dealing with a narc
For naturally born empaths it feels like diminishing yourself,
and it is truly disorienting as Dr R says
Not a good state of mind when rough decision to be made

  • @bonnielacombe9835 says:

Wow! This content really resonated with me. I’m 70 years old and I didn’t realize just how dangerous my empathy was to me until I was around 65 years old. I think instinctively I realized that when I was around 50 years old so started really protecting myself but still get “duped” occasionally. Thanks for sharing this. 😊

  • @soniagiangiacomo1762 says:

That is why Dr.Ramani is a genius.
She used a perfect simile in min 6:45″Your empathy becomes sort of like an autoimmune process”.

  • @tlotus3032 says:

You are the sword of truth. Soo needed and appreciated. Love 💕 you Dr Ramani.

  • @thoward3204 says:

I stood up to get out of my seat and completely forgot it was on a raised stair, tripped, and completely fell on knee/face… that’s how disoriented I was after watching this for 3 hours without a break (I didn’t leave my seat).

  • @justinatheodora says:

Garnering empathy for her, her children and her next ‘invention’ is probably why she wanted to make this film…

  • @sqinisekomajola1512 says:

My empathy makes me vulnerable too, it’s dangerous 😭😭

    • @jacobus57 says:

Empathy does not make you are anyone else vulnerable. Credulity is the problem. Being “nice” is the problem.

  • @panache1127 says:

Elizabeth Holmes fully understands the empathy that other people have and absolutely uses it to her advantage. The only thing about her that I notice when I see her interviews etc is that she has no heart. There is a saying, something along the lines, that the smartest thing the devil could do if we were faced with him is to make us feel sorry for him.

    • @presentpathtarot says:

I disagree. I think she’s very autistic and she’s not fully aware of things that most of us take for granted. I also think she’s very delusional. I’m definitely certain that she’s also manipulating with empathy to some degree. But have you seen the documentary yet?

    • @rho1360 says:

The smartest thing the devil could do if we met him is to make us feel sorry for him ….omfg

  • @ESkye91 says:

Let’s feel empathy for Holmes’ children growing up with two very troubled, manipulative and narcissistic parents. That empathy is well placed.
